We (Comcast) have to pay for the programming and the each town has a "franchise fee" that they impose on us becuase we are not a necesity like the phone company (AT&T). I don't think satalite pays it either becuase they dont need to run lines on city property. Everyone wants their cut and we just pass those costs on to you. It sucks, I know but we are also a business that needs to make a proffit to expand and offer more services. We couldn't bring things to the customer like the Total Home DVR and 100 meg internet (coming soon) if we didn't make money on our products.

I do kind of have to agree with him though, our comcast will go down for hours at a time sometimes. That's unacceptable in the middle of the day. It can cost big bucks when your daytrading from home and your internet goes out!!

considering dumping them for cable and keeping them for the internet. a guy i work with showed me Playon.tv and its pretty damn cool. hes already ditched the dish and watches free tv now with it

I think Comcast's products are great, and their prices are high, but on par with the competition, but their customer service and sales departments just sucks ass!!!
