Default Know anything about pistols?

Anyone know of good 'compact' pistols. I have two 9mm's, but they are huge compared to my friends' Ruger LCP .308

that thing is SWEET! saw it for the first time today... and only 300$ it seems like a must-have. Anyone know of other compact/powerful pistols? If they offered that same size pistol but in 9mm i'd be sold.

That 308 LCP is supposed to be a pretty good little gun. I've seen the review on Guns and Gear about the .380 LCP and they say that the .380 ammo has come along way in the line of stopping power. I would rather get a M&P compact .40 if size was an issue.

If you live in a state that doesn't allow CCW, there's no reason to consider purchasing one of those.

+1

but if you still want a small 9mm, Springfield has their EMP 9mm 1911 framed compact. I've heard nothing but good things about them and talked to people who CCL with them and say they dont even notice its there.

I like th the ruger lcp it a nice looking very compact gun. However kel-tec makes a .380 that is just as nice and is extremely accurate! There is no need for a holster either cause you can attach a clip on it just like a pocket knife has. I think it's the best cc gun....IMO.

I've shot an LCP. I thought it was a piece of shit, lol. Full sized guns FTW. Why do you need something that can fit in a pocket when you aren't allowed to carry a weapon?

I agree about the compact handguns. If you're not living in a carry state (like Smellinois), then there is no need to get one. Go for a full size.

I agree full size guns are the way to go. I would carry full size if I could. However some people still carry guns around even if it's ilegal. Having a small Gun I think is more of a comfortable thing besides my one friend who Is a cop can carry what ever hand gun he wants and he carries a small .380 kel tec.

yea as I said I have two full size 9mm's, and they would be impossible to 'conceal', but that isn't even the issue. You could hide a ruger in a little book and keep it next to your bed locked and loaded haha! (As of right now it takes me less then 3 seconds to fully arm myself, but having 2nd's and 3rd backups can't hurt haha)

I got a Glock 27 and the thing is money. I love it super compact.

Only holds 9 rounds. But if I can't stop someone with 9 rounds then he probably deserves not to get shot.

I did a bunch of research on this on another site and decided to go this route. I was going to go kel-tec but .40>.380.

Do research and feel the gun. Heck better if you can fire 2 or 3 of them for comparison.

I know the ballistics aren't extremely different, but .45 is the best self defense round there is IMO. Most of the myth of "stopping power" is shot placement, but pretty much any .40 or .357 sig gun snaps hard as hell with each shot, making it harder to place 3 rounds where you want them. It's been proven that when adrenaline is pumping not even 2 shots COM will take someone down, even with a heavy caliber weapon.

Considering the fact that you can't use your gun anywhere other than your house, i'd say stick to a shotgun.

Conrad, if you ran for president, you'd have my vote.

And did you know that a police officer's hit rate in a shoot out is 20%? Most cops carry 9mm with 13-15 round clips. So i agree, for home defense, get a shot gun.

the smith and wesson m&p guns are all shitty plastic. there was a thread on yellow bullet on good concealed carry and pocket carry guns. there were some high quality stuff in there.

i agree, but also if the bullets are correct it can have differant consequences also. A friend of mine works with the police downtown and they were shot at and they carry 9mm and it took multiple shots to the head to take him down, while if he had a .45 that guy would have been down in one shot. all the bullets had went through his head and he kept going

LCP .380 ACP is a good pistol, something you won't MIND conceal carrying 24x7 unlike a full size 1911 :P

But you Il boys who vote for liberals can't carry pistols like I always do, so might as well get something bigger in 9mm or .45ACP since it'll be your home defense gun.
